The Foundations
of Reality
of Reality
Each notebook in this Volume is an homage to a different frontier of human knowledge.
We made these notebooks for the thinkers who can’t help but wonder how it all fits together. For the ones who see beauty in a proof, in an elegant reaction, in the way light bends.
The Foundations of Reality is the first in our pocket notebook series, a trio that distills centuries of human thought into pages you can slip into your pocket.
On each cover, you’ll find carefully selected extracts from the original works of history’s greatest minds - texts that reshaped our understanding of the Universe:
Ramanujan’s hauntingly intuitive equations, Dalton’s quiet revolution in chemistry, Einstein’s deceptively simple paper that cracked open quantum theory.
Because sometimes it’s not enough to just take notes. Sometimes you want to hold the past in your hands.
A deep charcoal cover with fine geometric linework inspired by Kepler’s Harmonices Mundi.
It feels precise, balanced - an echo of the logic and beauty hidden in every equation. Look closely and you’ll find works by Euclid, Euler, Gauss, and Ramanujan -names that shaped the very language of numbers.
A rich, teal cover, chosen to reflect the colours of early 20th-century text books.
Dalton’s models of atoms from his New System of Chemical Philosophy is displayed alongside Mendeleev’s original Russian periodic table from 1869. It’s a quiet nod to the alchemy that became a science.
A deep indigo cover with a subtle pink top layer - a reflection of the strange elegance of the physical world.
You’ll see excerpts from Newton’s Principia, Schrödinger’s wave equation, Dirac’s elegant equation, and Einstein’s 1905 paper on the photoelectric effect that ushered in the quantum age.
We believe the things you carry should respect the things you care about. So these notebooks are made in the UK, reducing their carbon footprint while supporting local manufacturing
Inside, you’ll find 7mm lined paper - wide enough for free-flowing thoughts, structured enough for neat calculations. The 80gsm paper resists most pen bleed-through, so you can use your favourite ink without fear.
Everything about these notebooks was intentional. The corners are rounded to slip easily into pockets or bags without snagging, the size, the feel, the quiet durability. They’re not disposable - they’re companions.
I'm a chemistry teacher and during lockdown I wanted to design a notebook for myself that reflected my passion for science.
Then my friends asked for one. Then friends of friends. Then dozens of people I didn't know.
Since then we’ve sold over 30,000 notebooks which we're proud to say are made entirely in the UK and are of the highest quality - I'm confident you'll love writing in them.
Thanks for reading and please message if you’ve any questions,
