Our Guiding Principles

Our guiding principles at Atoms to Astronauts are that our gifts are produced locally to reduce CO₂ emissions during shipping, use sustainable practices and materials and that all packaging be fully recyclable. We have carefully chosen our partners to ensure these principles are upheld and are always reviewing them to improve even further.

Our Notebooks

Handmade in the UK by a small independent company the notebooks are made using paper that is certified FSC and PEFC standard. Our manufacturer also donates to the Woodland Trust Carbon Capture Programme. As the delivery to our base in Scotland is a few miles rather than several thousand we ensure that CO₂ emissions are significantly reduced compared to using an overseas manufacturer.

Our Fine Bone China Mugs

By using a UK based supplier, we again eliminate several thousand miles of travel that the majority of mugs have to undertake before reaching the UK for printing. Ours are designed, made and printed in the UK and always will be.

Our Packaging

All our paper packaging is sourced from sustainable sources such as FSC certified forests. All packaging including tape and box filler is fully recyclable (the packing peanuts are made of starch and can be treated as food waste) with the exception of the customs declaration plastic envelope for international orders.
